If you are using Aeroquip "socketless" (push-lock) hose and fittings, READ THIS!

The hose that Summits, Jegs, and other autoparts places are selling as Aeroquip Socketless hose is apparently the WRONG HOSE and NOT SOCKETLESS. The hose I got from Summit Racing is Aeroquip FC598, and the only place it says Socketless on it is a sticker on the box with the Summit part #. According to the Eaton Hydraulics datasheets, the correct AQP hose for Socketless use is FC332, and it actually says "Socketless" right on the hose. Here's a link to the thread on ls1tech: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=934214

Btw, does anyone know someone at Summits, Jegs, etc or Eaton Hydraulics?

could be a big issue as the id's are not the same between push lock and regular assembled hose, and using the wrong one on push lock could cause it to exit the fitting................... ;)

Yeah, and that'd be A Really Bad Thing (TM) anywhere downstream of a 255lph fuel pump...

Hmm. I have two boxes of the stuff I've been using. No issues after 3 years. I'll check tonight. Good catch!

Someone claiming to be from Aeroquip just posted in the Welcome Wagon forum and said the FC598 is socketless after all... I just dropped him an email asking for an explanation of their datasheet.

The 200 deg, maybe be the fluid temp they are referring, and not the ambient temp.

Many times hose and pipe ratings are based on the fluid temp/fluid pressure.
