BillK Sep 9th, 08, 05:17 PM Jody, The marine versions I have done in the last two years (four of them) are running 15w40 Mobil1. What does GM recommend ? 20w50 is too "thick" for my taste, especially considering that most of GM's crate engines have pretty tight clearances. JodysTransmissions Sep 9th, 08, 08:14 PM Bill, My specs call for 5W30 racing synthetic but, this really seems a bit too light weight compared to what I used in the past with my other big blocks. I have other questions @Team Chevelle, thanks for the replies here and there. SepsiS Sep 9th, 08, 10:49 PM I scanned this from the October issue of CHP in the Performance Q&A section. Read "Scary Pressure". http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/GODZ3R0/Pressure.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/GODZ3R0/Pressure2.jpg ZZ430DropTop67RS Sep 9th, 08, 11:15 PM Just an FYI, I have Installed 4 502s because people wanted them How does 1 quart of oil consumption sound every 500 miles? Also valve train noise has been excessive. Oil pressure was normal, using good oil. Not vendor bashing, just info.
