I have chrome ZR1 5 spokes on my '00 SS. The inside of the wheels, not the backside, but where the air is supposed to stay is corroding. Apparently, when I had new tires put on, the surface was gouged, so now there is corrosion and air leakage. Can I have the inside of the wheels powder coated without damaging the chrome? I thought of painting but this would be better if possible.

There is a place I used to deal with when I was in the tire & auto industry in the 1990's called Trans Wheel. Trans Wheel got their start in the very early 1990's if I recall. They repaired & did all kinds of unbelievable stuff on aluminum wheels which made them look better than new.
Wait, I found their website---Here is their link, 1992 is when they started. I was always very happy w/ them. http://www.transwheel.com/about/TWAbout.aspx?Event=About
Give them a call and see if they can help you out.
Good Luck!!
