Well I just want to say hello, I've lurking around a few days, honestly quite amazed by what I've seen here. Cheby2 and Akai's rebuilds, are two of the threads I've looked at the most.
I don't believe that WOW sums it up.
I have (2) a Camaro's a 1996 Z28 drop top six speed car, 40k miles on it, and a 1967 210hp 327 car. The second one is why I'm here. It was a freebie, that my daughter's father-in-law wanted hauled off. I was dumb enough to go pick it up. It really should be crushed, but I juat can't bring myself to do it.
The positive attributes of the car are;
1. Price, hard to argue with free.
2. It's fairly complete, right down to the pro-tech-to plate, and original keys.
The negative attributes of the car are;
1. Rust.
2. More rust.
3. Did I mention the rust.
The first car I ever owned was a 67 Camaro, maybe thats the reason for the tender spot. I know it should be parted out, but I can't.
The other thing I can't do is buy a repop body for it. Not real sure of the reason on this one($13,000.00) might be part of it.
No, I think I'm going to rebuild it, not numbers matching or anything, just a fun sharp daily driver.
Anyhoo, it will be awhile before I start working on it, I just finished rebuilding a crew cab GMC Durmax, next in line is my 1994 Z-71 for my son. Once thats done, I will begin with the 67, until then I will continue to watch with awe, at the work being done by youse guys. Thanks in advance for all the help I will get from watching, reading and bugging you all.
