I was going to order a set of z stripes from phoenix graphics for my 69.
Anybody ever install these? I really don't trust my car to "some guy"
and was going to attempt this install myself. Pros, cons,.....THanks,.

Paint them. That is my opinion. In my experience, decals that large with no patterns in them usually don't look that good...
If you are going to do it though, be sure to use a decal adhesive promoter spray. Its a spray that you put on the surface that your decal is sticking to and it allows you to position it for a few minutes as it dries. When it dries it makes the adhesive on the panel. Best of luck either way but I wouldn't use a vinyl decal for my ride.

You can use them and get perfectly fine results as long as you go slow and take your time. I have not used vinyl stripes, but would consider it as you can always remove them if you do not like them. Also, they are a lot less expensive than painting them on.

A local sign shop can install them for you too. The only real trick is to keep the surface and the vinyl wet during application. Our vinyl guys only use a 50/50 mix of Dawn blue and water.
Don't try to remove every little air bubble. As the vinyl dries in the sun it will take out the majority of bubbles. Any that are left can be easily removed by taking an Exacto knife and making a small puncture in the bubble.

My hot rod has a Phoenix bumble bee stripe. It went on pretty good I used alot of dish soap water mix and a squeegee. My restored car is painted like the factory did it. It is hard to tell the difference from a distance. You can see them in the pics on my signature.
