I'm going to be buying some edelbrock aluminum heads, I currently have a brand new 350 with an edelbrock 600 cfm carb, headers, 3 inch exhaust and an RPM Air-gap intake. Should I get angled or straight plugs on the heads?? Should I get 72cc or 64cc heads?? And do you think I should go with a comp cams Xtreme energy 268 cam or a 274??
Thanks for your help.

If it's a stock 350, get the 72cc heads and Comp XE268. But without knowing all your components, it's really hard to tell.

You need to figure out what the compreesion ratio will be with each head and decide what you need. Do you know your current compression ratio? Do you know how many cc's your current heads are? For example, if you have 9:1 compression and have 64 cc heads, get 64 cc heads. If you have 8:1 compression and 76 cc heads,do the math and decide which is best.

right now , to be honest with you I have no clue. I just bought a 78 camaro and it had a newly rebuilt 350 in it with a little over 1000 miles on it. And I'm putting that engine in my 68. So I have no idea what the heads are.

Hey 68camaro123, your right down the road from me. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
Pull the valve cover off and look at the casting # in the head. Then we can decode it and find the CC's it's suppose to have.
I might be coming to redding tommorow, maybe I could stop by and answer some of your questions regarding heads and compression. Not that I'm an expert by any stretch of my wild imagination, but maybe I could help. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif
Let me know.

Thanks alot for offering to come by tommorrow but I'm actually going to be taking a trip to go down to the bay area for a few days. And I'll check that number on the heads and post it first thing in the morning.
Thanks again.

go with the 64cc angle plug heads and the XE268 cam and install it at 106. you'll be fine with compression ratio(10.25 if you have flat top pistons)because the aluminum will remove alot of heat so you wont detonate. this little combo should be a very quick motor for the street, nice and torquey! good luck! make sure to put hedders on too.
