How do you open those suckers up to check the bulbs? They are the little chrome edged lights with a white plastic middle. 67 Coupe.

There are 3 tabs that hold them into slots in the housing. Use a sewing machine size screw driver and gently pry a tab out.

You can actually do it without the screwdriver. Just squeeze it together.
Once you see this picture, it will make it EASY for you.

If they are original they get brittle. I squeezed one of mine and had to find an NOS lens........:(

Yes, you are correct. If they are brittle, which they usually are, you can not save them anyway (even with a screwdriver!!). You can not tell the difference between the NOS and the repo's installed.
