View Full Version : Braided hoses - help on sizing?
klartder Sep 13th, 08, 06:42 PM Hi.
I haven't got my 69 BB Camaro yet, so hoped that someone can help me out on this? I want to get some stainless steel braided hoses from Spectre at Summit, but what sizes shall I get?
I know that the top radiator is 1,5" but how long?
Bottom 1,75", length?
What about the heater hoses? 5/8"? And roughly how much will I be needing?

Thanks,
Jakob
klartder Sep 17th, 08, 01:36 PM Come on guys, could I please get someone to measure their hoses? :o
I promise to buy you a beer next time I'm in your area :beers: :p
chassisboy Sep 17th, 08, 02:03 PM Do you mean the sleeving or the actual race hose? The sleeving comes in rolls you just order the od of the hose you want to cover.
If you want real race hose you are going to need adapters and fittings to get it right.
e-mail me and i'll try and help ya.
klartder Sep 18th, 08, 03:39 AM As far as I can see, these Spectre ones just replace your originals, because of the trick magna clamps?
Codi Sep 18th, 08, 05:03 PM braided hoses come in the AN sizes. To determine which size you need, AN is based on 16th's of an inch. A 6AN is equal to 3/8's (6/16>3/8) 10AN is equal to 5/8's. A 1 " hose would be a 16AN (16/16>1). Hope this helps.

Jakob,
I searched through my Summit Racing receipts and found the Spectre part #'s that I bought for my '69 with BB. They are:
SPE-5920 Radiator Hose
SPE-6816 Radiator Hose
No heater hoses on my BB.
Hope this helps!!!!!!!

JimM Sep 20th, 08, 10:10 AM fyi, the heater hoses are 5/8" (-10) and 3/4" (-12)
4' of each will do it with stock routing.
