I am looking to replace the worn front seat belts in my 68 coupe and to be a little different, I was looking at the Autoloc Airplane Buckle universal replacement seatbelts (http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autoloc/details.lasso?itemid=SB2PARBK). Has anyone had any experience with these? Looking for any feedback on these if anyone has used/installed them.

No experience using them, but am now considering it! Great idea for those who don't need original parts.

I just bought a similar product from this company. www.seatbeltpros.com (http://www.seatbeltpros.com).

They were considerably cheaper. The only problem that I see is that the belt anchor tabs have a slight bend to them which is in the wrong direction (it seems). The stock camaro anchors have no bend. I went this route because my car has turquoise interior, new factory belts are not available and the plastic buckle covers are easy to crack if you get them caught when moving the seatback to let rear passenger(kid) out. Another concern is that the stock anchor bolts are larger than the holes in the new belt's anchor brackets so you have to either drill out the anchors or use their cheesy-lookin hardware. All in all, a better deal for me than buying new deluxe or regular belts that would cost mucho more and not be the right color for my car.

The buckles on my seat belts still work well. I just bought replacement webbing and will have an upholster make them up. Were do you buy the webbing. I have looked for months on this. Found them on Ebay auction # 300258751511. The belts are 3 web and .055" thick by 2". :hurray:

Not sure what makes those "Autoloc" seat belts you linked to cost $85.... look awful similar to my $25/each belts. I must've got the same ones as Melrose... mine have that same bend in the anchor tab that goes the wrong direction, no big deal though, just means the belts have half a twist to buckle up.

I liked these because they have a nice big chrome surface on the buckle that I was going to engrave something onto for a little custom touch. Like a bowtie, or "rs" or something like that.

Been happy with them so far. Thought it might be a pain not having retractable belts but I haven't been annoyed with them yet.

The $85 ones are retractable. They also have non-retractable for $29.95. I was interested in the retractable, but they don't have to be Autoloc, these were the only ones I have seen advertised. Thanks for the links guys, it has given me more options to consider.

Hey, I was thinking about doing an ingraved thing also! But I don't know what happens if you try to engrave into chrome plating. Would it work?

I don't know if it would hurt the chrome or not.... my buddy said he's masked off a design and sandblasted the exposed chrome for a textured finish to the design. Might do that instead of engraving, not sure yet.

I had a set of the non-retractable style like you showed on my car. I wanted something safer than just a lap belt, so I bought the Morris 3 point seatbelts. Very happy I put them on. I have my kids in the car all the time and feel better with a more secure seat belt.

I have the non-retractables in a box if you want them. They have about 200 miles of use on them. PM me if you want to make an offer.
