I need a set of headers - 383/tremec/angle plugs/- but the question is - I am running a VA frontrunner system -does this clear up any clearance issues? I need to run a 1 3/4 header, too.

I have a 383 and tremec also in my 67 camaro. I have bought Hooker super comps headers. They fit pretty well, but they hang down pretty low. They have welded the collector flange which is nice, but they welded the drivers side with one of the bolt holes pointing straight down. Really cuts down on your ground clearence. Also #5 spark plug boot right behind tubes, they get burned.
I have heard that Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers tuck up higher and give you better ground clearence and better spark plug clearence, but no first hand experince with them.

I bought the Thorley headers and love how they fit. I have a Tremec as well with mech. linkage clutch. No problems with them. Good clearance around the angle plugs as well. Here are a few pics from my site. They also don't hang below the subframe. The tube size might be small for a 383 though.

Nic pics.

Chevymike - what are your exhaust port dimensions? I have a set of pro-lines to install and am in the research phase. Thanks.

I don't know the exact dimensions but they are more rectangle then square or round. I want to say I measured them and they were like 1.46 wide and 1.58 tall or something like that. They cover the ports on my ZZ4 so I was happy. :D
