R/S-ragtop

Howdy folks!
I just found this forum and I am looking forward to picking up loads of good info and tips from the membership. I am the proud owner of an "All new sheetmetal" '69 ragtop. It unfortunately sits waiting patiently in primer at the back of my garage for it's sometime in the future resto. I have already picked up all the needed parts to have it appear as an R/S when it's day comes. Current plans call for a warm smallblock (have an LT-1 block) and a later model 5 (or 6) speed. I favor Daytona Yellow with a Yellow Houndstooth gut and black top, the wife likes the color but thinks the interior may be toooooo loud........I'll use my executive veto powers if I have to. The car has power brakes/steering/top and not much else currently.
I also have an 87,000 mile '69 Trans-Am, pretty solid and mostly original. I have come to the point that I realize this T/A is just not the right car for me.....It needs to go on the auction block sometime next year. I'm not really a Pontiac nut and I don't have the time or inclination to sit around with it at shows. Every time I drive it I want to thrash it a little more than a rare bird should be, (it's the car's fault not mine, it is fun to drive!) Hopefully when the time comes to move it on to it's next owner I will have the $$$ and time (thats the hard one....) to finish the ragtop the way I want it (perfect).
I am also kind of currently working on (when time allows) an '83 Malibu wagon project. I am trying to have my 11Yr old son work with me and pick up some skills and knowledge along the way. The wagon is fitted with a 'glass nose (IROC style), cowl hood, ZR-1 roll pan and a ground f/x kit. It has had all it's roof holes patched and will most likely lose it's rain gutters and door handles too. A 305 Tuned Port and 700R-4 will supply the spin to the 16" IROC alloys. Suspension is dropped 3"f/4"r with gas shocks and high rate springs. We are still undecided what to do with the interior. Progress is slooow due to a work schedule that involves a lot of O.T. and heavy demands on my time due to my position as Deputy Chief of the local Volunteer Fire Dept.
Well thats me and my 'fun' cars, I am happy to be here, don't know how often I'll post but will be checking in for valuable info often.
