: DANA 44 86z28 May 2nd, 01, 06:06 PM Does anybody run a dana 44 in their combo? I was wondering how strong they are because I just got one reasonably cheap, with c-clip eliminators for my 86. It has a 8.5 diamiter ring gear and none of them had C clips. They are a real pain to shim because of the way Dana set them up, but their way is stronger than the easy way. It is at least as strong, probably stronger than the 8.5 GM rear end.
