a 10 bolt posi rear in a 1970 camaro I am looking at has a 2.73 ? gear posi traction ,but when turning a corner you can hear and feel one tire jumping or chattering like there is no slipage at all .
how bad could this be ? Iam looking at a complete rebuild or a minor fix,the guy says he thinks it needs some posi lube
the car has a 454 motor/400 trans thats basiclly stock.

thanks

Jack up one wheel, place trans in nuetral, apply beam torque wrench, turn wrench, should be no less than 35 ft/lbs to slip clutches.

Probably would drain fluid, clean out old fluid with a couple qts of kerosene, drain, add new lube, AND GM's diff additive. Do figure 8's in empty parking lot for several minutes, chattering should be gone. Otherwise, a clutch pak change is required, if gears are okay.
