This guy says this was a factory installed tach on his 67 camaro. Is he correct? If so what would this be worth?

Not a "factory" item :noway:
Those were sold 'Over-the-counter' at all GM dealers as an 'add-on' accessory in the 70's.
GM #987099 (group 9.750) - for V-8's only.
They were fairly useless actually - they tended to be hard to read and would over-shoot big time as you shifted and when you 'blipped' the throttle.
I've seen a few go for some big $$$ on the auction sites over the years - kinda wish I hadn't given away the few I had ...

What is the asking price? If it is reasonable I would buy it. I personally like to collect some of these type of items when priced right for me. OTC yes, but still a neat item. Nobody says you have to use it.
