Well, I did it. Made a decision to take a corporate position with a great company in York, PA. Kind of mixed feelings as I have been with my current company for 10 years and they are pretty good people. Also, the community we live in is a special place and full of great people, and we are very involved in church and the community.

On the other hand I am sure we will get involved with great people and church and the community in York too. It's just hard to leave Skaneateles (and anyone who has been here will understand). But, at least the winter weather will be better, (and shorter) so there will be more time to drive the cars. And, it's near Carlisle.

Anyone form the York/Lancaster area please feel free to fill me in on the area.

Thanks

Mark

I flew in and out of York,Wilkes-Barre,Philadelphia area flying frieght back in the 90's...I always liked the area and the people. Some of the most beautiful country you can imagine especially around the Pocono's.... lots of good ole back country roads for the Camaro too!

Ya, they are hard to see after dark aren't they? That will take soe getting used to. I see you are about an hour away. We'll have to hook up at a cruise or show, or just to have a cold beverage.

I've been fortunate in my life in that in the three area's I have lived in there have always been good people who I have been fortunate to know.

Congratulations. I thought there were no jobs out there for us anymore. I love that area of the country. :)

Thanks for the congrats. It does seem like it is nice there. It is also nice in the Fingerlakes area where I live now too, but we get 120" of snow whereas York PA gets about 20-30" each year. There are still jobs out there and the company I took the job with is the leader in my industry so I am confident it will work out as long as I work hard, perform well, and try to get along with everybody.

Please keep local York info coming.

Well I tendered my resignation Monday, they made Tuesday my last day as I deal with customers and they want to remove any potential conflict of interest. They were disappointed but pretty good about it. They will pay me through the end of next week and will also pay my September commission so that's very classy of them. Now I have a few days off to keep working on the house and get the cars ready to move. Probably list the house next week.

Thanks to everyone for their input on York, PA. I have run across several more people who know about thearea and they have been helpful too.

It's a big move and I'm a little scared but can't look back now.

Thanks

Mark

Congrates on the new job and relocation - I bet you'll do well :beers:

I spent most of my summers from the time I was 9 'til I was 17 on a my G-pa's farm in Marietta, PA south of York.
My cousin's were in York and two of them were usually down at the farm during the time I was there. Every couple of weeks we would drive up to their homw for the weekend so they could see their folks (my aunt and uncle).
I remember visiting there quite well and the nice areas around there. Plus things like swimming in some 'pond' near a publishing or papermill or something around the area - probably had chemicals in it and has been condemed by now ...
The area near our family farm, which we still have, is absolutely gorgeous  - rolling hills, lust tree lined areas, 4 miles from "3-Mile Island" :D - no really, it's right over the horizon from the north fields ...
I was back to the farm last summer and will probably go again next summer if we can swing it.
Love to take trips to Lancaster, "E"-toen and some of the othere 'big' cities when I'm back there.
The Stasburg Railway museum is well worth a visit also
And of course there's "Hersey" - better get over there before they sell to Nestley ...
You want to get one of the "Intercourse" Chevrolet dealer emblems for your Camaro while you there l:)
