Hi guys,
I've been a member of this site for a while but this weekend I finally bought a Camaro. Tons of great info here! I see a few familiar names from Lateral-g and Pro-Touring.

So, I sold my 70 Nova project car earlier this summer but I will remain involved in it's future as a give-away car being built at Chop Shop Customsin Woburn, MA. Honestly, I hadn't touched the car since 06 primarily due to my lack of spare time. I decided it was time to find a solid DD that I could enjoy while I tinker and dream. I have big plans for this Camaro already including the development of some restyling parts.

Story on the new horse in the stable....

I was told it was a FL car. It is very solid but it looks as though at least the quarters were replaced. In fact, it appears to be very solid all around as I only found surface rust here and there. It was originally a V8 car with a powerglide (which it still has and sucks by the way), came with Autumn Gold paint, black vinyl top with black interior. The Z wheels, spoiler and functional ram air hood scoop (of unknown origin) were obviously added since then. It looks like it was a nice little 94K mile car that got flipped by a shop where they added the orange pearl paint and dropped in a somewhat lame, rebuilt 350 with Edlebrock carb and intake, headers and dual Flowmasters.

Overall, it fit the bill for what I needed but it definitely needs work. D. seat is ripped, engine smokes a little, P.glide ('nuf said), weatherstripping is nasty and a bunch of other little items.

At some point, I'll take it apart and start over with some suspension, brake upgrades, modern drivetrain, and a whole new exterior and interior look. For now I'm just gonna enjoy driving a car instead of dreaming and piling our lawn furniture cushions on it. The 130K mile 00 Cav was really cramping my style! LOL

Enjoy the pix...

Thanks guys, I'm very happy about the buy. My only problem is holding back from wanting to dig into it right away. There's a ton of things I want to do when the time comes but for right now I'll just enjoy small weekend projects and drive the hell out of it! It'll definitely be going in a pro-touring direction but I'll be working on some marketable styling enhancements and using it as a test mule.

As for the paint, it's probably a 15-20 footer. It's definitely got some issues that need to be dealt with. The right spoiler endcap is cracked and there's chips here and there so I won't feel bad using it as a summer daily driver. Too bad I bought it right at the end of the season, I won't be able to enjoy until April or May around here. There's no point in registering it for one month of use.

Welcome to Team Camaro - even though I'm a first gen owner, I wouldn't mind having a nice 2nd gen in the garage as well
