I pulled a motor and transmission out of a recked pickup today for a back up for the race car. It is supposed to be a strong freshly rebuild 350. Can anybody tell me what I got?
#'s on back of block = 39700 0 , H255
Heads = 376450
Intake = 346250
It does appear to be rebuild not long ago. The harmonic ballancer was broke off in the reck, that is a scarry one.

If the heads are 367450 (not 376450), they're from a 262 or 305; they have 1.72 intakes and 1.5 exhausts (if 305) or 1.3 exhausts (if 262). The 3970010 block was used for millions of 350's from '69-'79; this one was cast on August 25, 1975. The intake was used on lots of 350's. Anything stamped on the front pad?

I didn't see any number on between the 0's on the block. The intake had the firing order cast on the front. I think I better go back an make sure I wrote down the correct numbers.

It's a '76 Camaro 350/170hp 4-barrel; 376450 heads are from a '75-'81 262/267/305, 60cc chambers. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
