Hey everyone. I scored a 5045605 (CE1 / RS) wiper motor at a swap meet last week. It is much nicer than my existing unit.

I went through it and got everything freshened up and lubed. I bench tested it and it ran fine at both speeds. However, when mounted to the firewall (unit grounded), the motor comes on low speed when the ignition is turned on. The wiper switch will switch to high speed and low speed... but the off position doesn't turn off the wipers.

I am thinking it is the park cam not working... Is this the case?

If so... how do I get in there to fix it? I don't really want to try and pry the gearbox apart.

Steve, parking cam is inside the gearbox (right below the resistor). Your motor ground is good because you are getting juice after switch off. Did you bench test the motor with the same switch that you are using in the car?

Yes. Ended up pulling the resistor assy. out of the gearbox and straightening the parking tab. Works fine now...

Thanks!
