What is the purpose of the bleeder screws on the 309 master cylinder?? If you have to bench bleed it same as all other master cylinders then why are they there? This question was asked recently and no one had an answer. Belair Bob, David Pozzi ?? Anybody?

The upward mounting angle of the MC caused remaining air bubbles to rise to the top. I was told that the bleeder screws originally helped to bleed out this last bit of air. If a proper bench bleeding is performed, the dual bleeders really serve no purpose IMO, but I suppose they could assist in burping that last pocket of air that exists in the ports after bench bleeding.
