Well the time has come. Or at least I think it has:D I finally to the point where I think Im ready. As a kid growing up I always wanted a first gen Camaro. Im now 34 years young and I think its time. Over time Ive built many bikes import cars ect. Ive learned on all things things. I now have a PPG paint cert. Ive pulled many motors. Just over all I know the process of building a car the right way. The goal is to find a builder. Something I can build for me. Im not much of a stock kind of guy. I would like to keep the motor carbureted but I want the body mild custom.
So where to start?? Ive started looking and it seems that Ive maybe waited too long, lol. These bad boys are super hard to find! Either the car is half done or done. Seems no one has a decent builder for sell.
Anyway thats my story. If anyone has any advice please chime in! I have a lot to learn about these cars and Im glad to have found this place!

Hey Steve, the good news is you are young and have plenty of time. Most of the fun is finding the perfect car and the stuff to put your signature on it.
If you wait to hear from others and read the link on my car you'll see it takes a while to find what you want. But, it's worth the wait.

Thanks guys! I feel like the 2010 Camaro is going to REALLY drive the price of the first gen. Thats why Im in a hurry to get one. Im sure Ill find one sooner or later, I hope. I just dont know how far I want to take the project. I just read a thread "from ashes" Man what a job that guy is doing! I hope to find one that I dont have to replace too many panels. BUT beggers cant be choosers, lol

Be patient and the right car will come along. Watch for half done projects selling reasonably by guys who gave up or ran out of money. You can find some great builder projects that way and sometimes they even come with piles of new parts in boxes.
