When mounting the battery in trunk and running cable and wiring inside the body. What do you do at the front of the door, kick panel area. Do you drill into the kick panel area or lay cable and wires on floor around bottom of kick panel in route up to fiewall.

Why not route them under the car from the trunk and run them along side the pinch weld at the rocker and floor?

It always seemed safer to me to have the cables more centrally located in case of a side impact. I suppose it depends on whether or not the cable to the starter is only alive when trying to start the car or not. I sure wouldn't want that cable shorted in a crash.

I went though the trunk floor with a tight fitting grommet and ran it on the inside of the rear frame rail, frame connectors, and front subframe, to the starter. I found insulated one hole clamps, Home Depot has them, and screwed them to the frame with self tapping screws. Clean and out of the way. Oh. and don't crash.
