Alright I am getting close to the point where I will need to buy a radiator. I really don't want to go with the Aluminum unit as I want to keep the original look of the brass/copper type. My car was originally a 307 glide car and now has a decent 355 with 4 speed. This is a no air car so that is not an issue. I want to keep with the 21" size as well. Just curious who you guys buy your units from and who I should stay away from. I would like to buy a radiator once and do it right the first time. If you need more info let me know but I think the big items of interest are in the context here. Thanks for your advice, ya'll allways come up with good info.

I have an alum radiator, and am happy with it. That said, my copper/brass rad cooled my warmed over 383 just fine. I run a factory shroud and a factory style clutch/fan setup. I originally got my copper rad from a local rad shop - nothing special. I'd say for a mild 350 if you want to save a buck or two go copper/brass with a GOOD factory style shroud/fan set-up. It should be totally fine. The alum rad runs about 5 degrees cooler than my copper/brass. Not worth it in my humble pinion.

Get a 3-row core 21 inches wide. Heavy duty would be 23 inches wide, but would require a wider shroud.

If you want to stay with the original style and look why not just have your radiator checked out for leaks and flushed. I believe my 69 was a 307 and with a mild built 350, 300-400hp in it now, cools just fine. I switched to an alum. rad for the look and to update. Both worked great.

I replaced my 69 sb back in early 90s from Classic...as good as the orginal
The only reason I replaced was it was far cheaper to Air freight it and a few other bits n peices into NZ than get the orginal re cored.
The orginal sits in the box the replacement came in and stored away.
