This is my first post here though I've spent a fair amount of time lurking about. My Camaro is a 1968 Z-28 that I bought in San Diego in 1970. It was all I owned for many years and I was finally able to restore it in 1992. It was three years of frame up and it received a first in class at the Sacramento Autorama in 1992. Now I want to make it handle. I spent over an hour on the phone with Mark Savitske yesterday and ordered everything I'll need to make a great ride up the Feather River canyon next spring.
The questions, answers, opinions, and arguments that I find on this board are a great help. Thanks to all for what I've learned and I'll assemble a post with photos when I get this project together.
Having said that I note that I can't post attachments. Hmmmmmm.

OK, I figured out the technical problem I had with posting photos here. I hadn't paid for a membership! I put the green salve to that problem and here are some photos of the green machine. The 302 is ancient history (I was a 21 year old sailor in San Diego in 1970 and I did eat a Mustang GT that night) and now it's a 4 bolt 350 from an old tow truck. At the time I built this engine it had to pass California smog so it's a Comp Cam 268, Edelbrock intake and Thorley Tri-Y's. It's a close ratio Muncie and 4.10:1 in a 12 bolt. I can't wait to get the SC&C and Bilstein parts installed and try a twisty road.
Dayton68, I went to the car show in Chester a few weeks ago and it was fast up highway 70 on the Feather River and came home on highway 32 down Deer Creek. Next time will be even better. All that windy road and an iPod full of Jefferson Airplane. I'll check back as I get this together.

I usually go to that show. This was the first time in several years I skipped Chester. I'll be back next year. I love the poker run around the lake. Two of my friends own resorts on Lake Almanor so I have several housing options.

Bumped as I've figured out how to post better photos in my prior post.
The flames are Art Himsel magnetic and aren't on the car any more. Too JC Whitney for me.
