My tachometer in the dash is not working. All the wires appear to be connected but not sure. If I was to take it out is there a way to check and make sure the tach itself works. Anyone know which wire from the dash guages is for the tach. Thanks.

It may be the filter used if it's a factory tach. The easiest way is to get another tach and use the original wiring. If tach works then you know it's the tach. If not, bad wiring or bad filter.

Remove the tach and run jumper wires directly to the coil negative for the signal and to the battery for power and grounds. Fire up the engine and if it still doesn't read you tach is bad.
