I found a great date correct alternator for my car. It failed the local pep boys test. What are my options? Can I buy a rebuild kit? Recommendations?

thanks

GM alternators are easy to rebuild and the parts are cheap but if you don't feel confident doing that buy a reman and swap the front housing from the correct date coded alternator onto it or have yours rebuilt by someone who knows how to do it. .

Where is the best place to get parts? Do the sell entire kits?

Yes, you can buy a full kit to rebuild it.

Also look for folks that do complete restoration and rebuilds if you want it to look really nice and function correctly.
There are a ton of them listed on sites like Hemmings.com ...
