I need to know the advantages and disadvantages of a lockup vs. nonlockup converters. Which is better for performance?

Actually it would be for gas mileage. What is your combo? Motor/tranny and rearend and wants for the car?

The lockup converter eliminates slippage, reducing friction and, as a result, heat of trans fluid. I have heard that you should always run one in a street overdrive 700 or 200 trans. The lack of slippage will also increase gas mileage. I don't know of a difference in performance.

It's 350 blown with 700R4 trans. It has a 410 gear.
