I have a 1996 Camaro SS with a factory alarm and I replaced the ignition cylinder because the VATS wires were broken causing my car not to start. When I replaced it the car started and all was well. Its acting up again and I wanted to know if there was anyway to bypass or disable the security system so I could start my car.:confused:

Measure the resistance of the pill in your key and then install an equivalent resistance accross the VATS wires under the dash. It will act as if you always have the right key to start it - pill or not.

Just be warned, installing a 'bypass' resistor for VATS disables its alarm/theft functon.
