I just bought a incredible 69 Camaro SS Clone. This car has a proffessionally built 327 correct to the year. But because it is a 69 SS clone and wanting to keep the clone appearance to represent the car right should I change the 327 emblem on the front fenders to show a 350? My research shows that SS models started at the 350 size is this correct?
If I want my car to look authentic should this be done or does it really matter. Did they make a 327 model with the SS trim package?

Its very simple to change the 327-350 badges... Just to crown nuts inside the fender well.

Looks like your right, no SS 327... Started with SS 350

I would leave the 327 badges on just to see how many comments I got at cruise ins and car shows. It would be interesting to see how many people would talk about there friend, uncle etc that had a 327 ss camaro in the past. JMHO

IMO, if you are going to have a clone, it should look right. Since a 327 was never available in a Camaro as an SS, I vote for 350 emblems. Like Skip said, they are easy to change out. You could always get a set of 350 emblems and try it out.

I would leave the 327 emblems, just for fun. Hey, your car is a clone, why not? Hell I took the 396 emblems off of my fenders back in 1980. The 427 emblems on the cowl hood look better. And my car is an original SS RS of course.(all 396's were SS) Hey, it's my car!

You'll get tired of hearing "in 69 the Camaro SS didn't come from the factory with a 327". I got tired of people telling me "a 69 SS didn't come with a Power Glide" and I would say "it was an option". TH-350 fixed that issue.
