I'm trying to figure out a solid rear-end for my 89 Camaro. Now I've heard that the rear end on the 3rd-Gen Camaros weren't too strong. Right now I have a stock 305 but I'm switching over to a 406 with 450hp/500tq, along with a T-56 transmission. I'm looking for a rear end to handle my new power output along with disc brakes for an added bonus all for relatively cheap. Now here's the question; should I modify my current rear-end, a 10 bolt 7.5 inch rear, or should I go to a 12-bolt? Keeping in mind cost, I'd like to find something that comes with discs from a junkyard. If I did decide to convert to another rear-end, where can I get the brackets to bolt-up to my car?

Strange and Moser make bolt in 12 bolt rear ends for these cars. They are going to be over $2000. I have a Borg Warner rear end that will fit it. It is a little stronger than the 10 bolt and has a 3.27 gear and posi, set up for disc brakes. Interested?

The B W rear end does not have c clip axles. They are retained by pressed on axle bearings and retainers. I rebuilt this rear end and it's ready to install. I don't have the brakes, but the disc brake brackets are on it. I've been asking $600 for it and I can ship it to you. Send me an email for more detials. biggearhead@bellsouth.net

The 9 bolt Aussie rear they put in most of the 3rd gen IROCs and TAs are pretty strong.
