Scott MH Oct 14th, 08, 09:00 PM hey guys, i have pretty much finished my Camaro...well, for now. in a couple of years i plan to strip her down to the metal and go ground up resto-rod. but in the mean time i am going to enjoy her and do with her what she as built to do, crrrruuuiiisssseeee  But, I have the itch :D i am thinking of taking on a new project car and i am wondering what is or what will be your next project car?
Here is what I am thinking of:
1968 or 1972 Chevelle/Malibu (496 cu. in. stroker)
or
1970s Dodge Demon Sleeper (500 cu in stroker)
or
1970s Chevy Nova Sleeper (572 cu in)

sneakey pete Oct 19th, 08, 02:16 PM I just picked a '68 Firdird (body is excellent shape and in primer totally gutted) as a project car. Now I can leave the Camaro as a driver and the Firebird will be a drag (mule) car. Planning on 496 just can't decide on a purchasing a crate (730hp) or building one from bare block. Plannning on mini tub and cage looking at turning 10 sec or even mid to high nines. What are you folks opinion on cages bolt together vs weld in and crate engine vs build? Any good specs on turning a 454 into a 750 to 800 hp engine with gobs of torque? Naturally aspirated. Also want to get about a 5" or 6" cowlhood. Any ideas (or opinions) on plex vs glass as I don't have a front window for the car.
