I am starting to work on the headlight assemblies on my project car (67 RS).. I have the assemblies and am beadblasting and powder coating, but all of the electrical parts in the assembly are missing or need replaced badly.. Was hoping somebody could double check and make sure I got the list right:
1.) Two motors -> any experience with the ones from Ricks or Y1? Big price diff between the two sites.
2.) Four limit switches
3.) Two relays
4.) Motor Housing -> do I need two of these or should they come with the new motors?
5.) Got the American RS headlight harness I will be using to wire in..
6.) Lot of time and patience....
Am I missing anything?
Thanks

you need three relays, and the metal plate they all mount to which tucks up under the left fender.

The factory assembly manual for your '67 so you can see how everything should go together.

not sure how the new motors work as well as the harness, but some new stuff does not run the same as the "old" original stuff. as in, detroit motors do not use limit switches, once they know how far to go, their set (or so i hear) aaron67 is right, the three relays and board that mount up under the driver side fender. make sure you have hideways headlights, covers, bezels, etc, as well as the rs fenders. should be good to go!

I believe there is a 10 or 15 amp circuit breaker that mounts with the relays also.

YES! Good point, forgot to mention that... you NEED to install some circuit protection. 10 amp I think???

The repop motors and RS equipment that you get from all the major parts houses work the same as original.... meaning you can get a 67 RS wiring diagram and that will be exactly how you hook everything up. DSE and another company (retroelectric or something??) offer some "update" kits, but the factory system works just fine IMO.

Thanks for the info.. I ordered the board with the three relays on it.. Is there a fuse slot on the board with the relays? I looked in the assembly manual but didn't see it?
