Here you go. www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#InteriorColors This should clear it up for you. What is the your vin number? I believe your car would be a late production car not an early production car. If you don't want to post the vin just post all but the last 3 or so numbers.

That is what I suspected. Your car is a late built car but on this chart appears to line up more as a June built car. Here is a link for the build date information. http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#HowMany

russ, so, help me out here. the guy is "sure" that the camaro came with the fin hood scoops. so what is considered earily 68. the kid traded to a nova his dads ss68 to the guy i bought it from about 2 yrs after the trade. they talk often and the dad says the car was ss with a "67" hood but he knows its a 68 hood. hes talking about the fins. i dont care other than making it look the same as the date code. what do you think. i thought the vin would tell me for sure.

I am not an expert, especially on the 68's, just somewhat well informed. As to your question about the hood louvers, I feel reasonably sure if it is a true ss car, it would have had the stacked style hood louvers. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. I found this in a quick search but I can't vouch for the accuracy. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7338&highlight=1968+early+hood+louvers

It should have the 4-stack style. My April-built car had the stack design.
