I realize that there is a 200 to 700 debate but I didn't see an answer to my question.I built an early 700r4 with a superior shift kit,z-pak clutches for 3-4 . a double wide band ,and a super servo.my problem is when I have my foot to the floor in 3rd it won't upshift to o/d ,only until I let up enough, then it shifts to 4th.I know they sell a valve that keeps your car in o/d with your foot to the floor but only at 75% throttle.but that's for o/d
I also tried a 3-4 shift valve for this problem ,and I worked BUT...It wouldn't come out of overdrive even if you manually shifted to 3rd.you would have to slow down alot to come out of o/d.
someone told me I should try a high output governor.but I thought that would just make the shifts later....
any answers would be apperciated

the car is a 69 camaro with a 94 lt1 700r4 25oo stall and 3:90 rear
ran 13.60's

That is one of the issues with the 700-R4.
You can attain a WOT OD shift on the later models with the modified TV plunger sleeve BUT, it totally kills the part throttle detent downshifts. It makes the transmission unacceptable to me for driveability.

Your best bet is to put the stock TV plunger and sleeve back in and modify the governor BUT, it still won't get you WOT shifts into OD and it may cause you to have worse conditions of coming out of OD under part throttle.

So...
your options are limited.
Live with the weird driveability of the modded sleeve, or no WOT OD shifts.

Just another one of the reasons I prefer the 200-4R. I was doing WOT 3-4 shifts at 110 mph in my Chevelle. 140 comes quick :D

they make a 3-4 upshift valve that goes in the valvebody.

You might try reading what you quoted, he has tried that...

I think jake is right on this one.
I'm going to experiment with a high output governor.see what happens....
next car I'm building is a 5 spd .
thanks
