I'm doing a small to big block engine swap in a 68 camaro. I've read here that on the 69 camaro the taller mount is the LH side. I've done searches for this regarding the 68 can can't find anything. On the mounts I have there is a sticker on the shorter mount that calls for it to be installed on the LH side. I called D&R to inquire about this and he tells me that on the 67 and 68 models the shorter mount indeed is the driver side mount. Can someone confirm this. Thanks

Hope these pics help. This is my '68, which I did same conversion as you are doing. These are the mounts I used -

Passenger side (right side)

Driver side (left)

Think about it this way - there is no dispute (as far as I know) that engine is always shifted to passenger side on big block cars. If you use the taller mount of passenger side, then you will be shifting the engine to the driver's side - WRONG!

Thanks so much Dave. I thought it was that way. I've never seen anything saying that the shorter mount is the LH mount. Just hearing the guy I spoke to say the 67 and 68 were different then the 69 made me doubt myself.

VJ,
There are some confusing differences, so you gotta be careful, lol. David Pozzi had some great engine mount info on his web site. Links below.........................

Thanks for the help and the links. I installed them with the taller of the 2 on the driver's side. Tomorrow morning I'll check the measurments to make sure they match David's information.

WOW, being new to this I was suprised that the mounts were two different heights. I checked mine and sure enough my are incorrect, the Driver side is shorter than the passenger- maybe that is why I had problems with the headers and clearance issues? So I tried to switch the mounts and found that the outer lip won't fit flush and I am not sure that they are even the right mounts for my 68 Camaro. I looked to find where I can get some- does any have a place I can call to order the correct ones?

I did measure them and they are as your posted photos show. So thanks. I installed them before I set the subframe back under the car. Working on installing the coil springs. Got one finished this evening, going to attempt the other tomorrow. Hope that spring compresser is good for one more. Compressing those things to ~12" is nerve racking. Even using a chain as a safety net.

I believe the lips are there to prevent you from installing on the wrong sides. Of course, that would not prevent you from ordering the WRONG mounts, lol.
I've ordered lots of stuff through Rick's First Generation and they've always treated me right. You can order right from their web site or you can speak to a tech rep: http://www.firstgen.com/
