No such car was made! Probably just a 275HP 327 car showing a 4P on the tag!

I thought they knew cars better than that .

From all that I have read about BJ, they don't know **** firsthand about cars. They just repeat what the owners tell them...........
and that must be how they avoid all the liability/fraud lawsuits.

There was also a 1969 SS with a cowl hood and fake aged window sticker.

... some of the bidders don't know either. I saw an English made car with a 383 stroker sell for someting like 100,000 once. the new owner said "English styling with an American big block, can't beat that". He must have been surprised when informd it wasn't a big block.

I was stunned when I saw this car come up on the block. They asked Steve Magnante (sp?) if it was a true SS and he said, "Yep, 327 engine and bucket seats, it's a true SS." I thought the neighbors were going to complain because I was laughing so loud. l:)

Aww man I missed that... I would of LOL'd too.

I once saw them read the cowl tag on a camaro and say "yes according to the trim it is originally a V8 car"

They do have pretty broad knowledge of a lot of different cars. They can't be experts in all of them, so they need to rely on others for details.

Also remember, this is for TV - it is for entertainment purposes only. When you are there live you do not get the play by play commentary ad lib, and it can get quite boring after a while. So if you can get laughs, that's entertainment!

There is plenty of time to inspect the cars in the staging areas to decide what is and what isn't....and at Palm Beach this past year I saw a bunch of what isn'ts.

What year Camaro was it? In 67 there are the options in group 4 (K,L,N, and P) that would indicate a V8 car and in 69 the X22, X33, X55, X66 and X77 would indicate a V8 car.

i think he meant by the body number....12437.....a vin tells you 12437 that the 4 is for v8 and a 12337 would be a six cyl. On the trim tag they did not differentiate, but you are correct, for 67 you could tell with the 4 (P,K,L,N) or would be one identifier.

And some times these "others" are what, ricer kids? Seriously, some of the things they say sounds like the logic of a ricer kid.
