Thats pretty damn cool huh? I heard that the other day, my buddy called and had talked to the guy who helped/ helps us with our nitrous set up (Steve Johnson w/ induction solutuions, he's the man!) and told us Bob Glidden would be there. I see we have our work cutout for us (we knew that of course) but it's awesome to be in the company of some of the best drag racers out there!
It looks like it's for sure we are going, trying to get the car all wrapped up, adding some weight and some last minute things. We are definitely not where we wanted to be but if everything goes well we should make a decent showing. Besides we had to go, and win or lose it's a blast!
One issue we may have is I may be taking on extra duties, one of our crew guys has been on strike with Boeing and money is going to be tight for him, he may or may not make it. You and Royce bring a pair of work clothes and we'll put you to work :D;) . I have not got my plane ticket yet but rooms are reserved etc., so we should be there. I'm pumped!

Sweet! thanks for the generous offer Royce :thumbsup: and I believe you mean it too, definitely looking forward to finally meeting you and seeing Rich again also, hopefully we have some time to sit and BS a bit, the year I met Rich was at the beginning of an 8 hour hand tool only engine rebuild...... so we were pretty busy. I would hate to do that to you though, hopefully we are in good enough shape we don't need to 'enlist' crew :D .
But you never know, we are kind of 'stepping in it' if you know what I mean, we are not really totally ready but I think we are close enough, the motor has worked great it's the sticking to the track that we have fought. The thing is I think Vegas is one track that won't be a problem, wish us luck though we need it.
I just hope we get out and compete well win or lose, because we will be in awesome company. This class is funny too, last year our buddies from Canada won it with I believe a quick pass of 7.40, and Pappas and Billy Glidden both were in the 6's, it's not always the fastest car that wins the race in headsup (so we have that going for us :D ).
I still need to book my flight, but thats it. I'm just one of those guys that hate to say I'm going until I step on the plane.....

Sweet! You'll love the finals Rich, as good as the whole race is the finals are intense, people really step up their game and you see some wicked fast passes. I am so pumped to go, I just started a new project and I'm swamped at work but sorry guys I gotta take some time off come November! I need to book my flight ASAP but I want to be 100% positive nothing will come up, I think we are good though. I'm paranoid like that ;)

I will be there no "If's" about it. We'll see you there. I will be down there from Thursday to Monday. I still need to get a room because the guy that dropped out was supplying his time share for us to stay in. He had some personal issues come up and can't make it.

Royce and Rich, booked my flight last night finally so I'm locked in :thumbsup: . Flying in on Friday morning, flying out Monday morning. The car should show up weds/ thurs I think, depending how fast they drive...
We are getting together this weekend to do some last minute details to the car, it's pretty close but we have to add the fuel supply to the third system (just in case ;)) and add a whole bunch of weight, along the lines of 275 pounds, ouch. So that will mess with our chassis but we should be able to get it close on the scales.
We are definitely going to have our hands full, we expect to get our butts completely handed to us if we are not right on our game, even at that we are not going to be the fastest car there. We really don't know what it will run on a sticky track like Vegas and two or even three systems turned on, around here the few times we tested we only ran one conservative system with a best of 7.40 @ 184 and black tracked the whole way down (300 pounds lighter I might add), it will be sweet to get on a track like the strip and see what this baby will do!

I take it you can add the weight where you want it? 275lbs is a lot but, if it's in the right place it could be helpful.

I had a couple guys back out on me but, I am still going. I will be there Thursday to Monday. They are having test and tune Thursday evening so, I would like to see that as well. 4 - 9pm

Cool Royce, you won't be dissapointed. The guys may run a little test and tune Thursday so you may see the Vette out, no doubt there are going to be some wicked passes Thursday. Look for LOTS of hoop hangin' action, that track is so sticky I think it surprises people at first, then they start "turning it up" so you usually see some hairy rides. I will get there about in time for round 1 of qualifying, plane arrives at 8:30 Friday morning I believe.
Yes thats the good thing we can put the weight anywhere we want, the car has spots for it to bolt in all over the place, so we should get it pretty even and in all the right places. Heck with the traction issues we've had it could work out real well for us, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

We are on the 10.5 list now, most the way down in the blue 2004 vette, guess it's really official now :beers: .

Sweet Royce, looking forward to meeting you finally! We are getting pretty pumped, car is at weight now and we have just a few little items left, hope the weight doesn't create problems for the chassis tune, the Nova actually liked the weight so you never know.
The Street car super nationals site (http://www.streetcarsupernationals.com/raci_info.html) lists the race ending at 5:30, but you never know. I usually fly out on Sunday to get back to work Monday but the latest flight was before 9:00 and I didn't want to take a chance, so I'm flying out at 6:00 am Monday morning (sleep? not likely..). In the past I have had 10:45 flights, twice it was about right but a rush kind of, got to the hotel then bolted to the airport, last time (two years ago) I watched Pro street finals and raced to the airport just in time.... to see my flight was delayed 2 hours.... but it was cutting it close if on time. It will depend on race delays but I think you will be fine.

Absolutley Rich, there are some wicked cars that are planning to be there, this race in general has become HUGE, the fastest pro street cars in the US and Canada in my opinion. It looks like the first year there will be a bump spot in outlaw 10.5, pro street has had one but it almost looks like outlaw has become a bigger deal, I think it's because the pro street cars have become ridiculesly fast (and expensive), I bet we see more than one pass in the 6.20's from them, thats just plain nuts!
We just hope to qualify decent make the bump and go a few rounds, if the car works we should but wow we have our hands full. Any time you have a guy in your class with credentials like "10 time NHRA pro stock champion" (Bob Glidden), you know you've got trouble :yes: . It's going to be a blast regardless!
Wet Okole manufactures those neoprene seat covers you may have seen especially in Jeeps and such, you can get in the car wet and not soak your seats, they are wetsuit material. They actually are really nice they fit perfectly and look pretty stock as long as you don't get a real wild color. Trevors' Dad and Brother started and own the company.
