Thanks Ron. Do the xr-1's sound different than you though they would? I will have my wife help me with another clip tomorrow with some rpm's. Sounds even better with some quick rpm's.

I have never herd the XR1's before....but all I have ever been told is they sound great and flow killer.

Andy , how did you know that ?
Dougs72Nova Oct 18th, 08, 11:07 PM Andy , how did you know that ?
Hey Jerry. How are you? I talked with Andy about the mufflers. I also have a thread that had pictures of my exhaust.

They must flow well because my car picked up some real power with the new exhaust!
DougP Oct 19th, 08, 06:17 AM Doug -- sounds great and you're running in the 11's -- outstanding -- as a side note I posted a clip of my exhaust "noise" on another thread on hearing the car's exhaust -- based on comparing yours and mine, I definitely need a new exhaust system
70chevyz28 Oct 19th, 08, 09:22 AM man...she sounds good...love the bass from the dumps!
Jeff H Oct 19th, 08, 10:30 AM I assume that's a race car and not driven too far? I put a 3" dual exhaust on my 70 SS396 L78 car and the Flowmaster chambered style mufflers were brutal. I switched over to the Dynomax super turbos and it sounds great and isn't bad at all cruising on the higway. I've driven the car 2-3 hours to go to Carlisle and it's enjoyable. You can even talk to other people in the car. And I went with over the axle rear exit exhaust, not dumps. I can't imagine driving too far in a car with big ehaust and dumps!

Thanks Doug. Your car sounds great, what are the mufflers you have now?
man...she sounds good...love the bass from the dumps!
Thanks Matt.

It's a street car with a gm crate motor. I drive it about 70 miles round trip to go to the track. The exhaust is only 2 1/2 inch tube. Since i got rid of the flowmasters i have close to zero resonance in the interior. What would make you think it's a race car?
Creeper Oct 20th, 08, 06:51 AM Let us know if it picks up. I have been thinking about the XR-1 IN 3 " I have 3" Flowmaster knock offs now.

Will do Robb. It might be next year though. I'm going to tear down my front suspension and put some Afco low friction ball joints and control arm bushings in it. Trying to get the car to transfer better.
