I just traded in my plain jane 1999 camaro t-top coupe but I noticed when the fuel level was low the check guages lite came on which was a great feature, I now own a loaded 1998 convertible but after taking it to the dealer for a cluster replacement AND running out of gas the check gauges light doesn't come on, the service mech said this was the year it was started for this feature and it should work but right now it's out of gas in the garage and the light isn't on, I'm sure this light is supposed to come on when there is other problems like temp or alternator problems but if it doesn't come on with the gas I'm affraidf it won't come on with the other items either but it just won't come on now, do I really have the same feature as my 1999 did? and if so how did you find out this info. Both my cars have V-6's, the convert has an auto while the t-top had a 5 speed
