Heres a pic- this is under the dash of my 1969 camaro- in the pic to the left is the front on the car and to the right its toward the rear--
is this the ignition switch? I have a console now and it use to be a column shift, do i still need this?
i'm sorry but I'm new at this. I just installed a AA classic update wire harness under the dash and found this above the steering column. Does that L-shape bar from my lock cylinder attached to this somehow? Is this thing facing the right way? I can move it around if i have too.

That is a gear selector indicator for a column shifted PG trans. Does your car have a clock in it now. I'm assuming a 69.

yeah, i have a clock in it but it doesn't work- this is from my 69 camaro- Can I take this piece out then? I have a turbo 400 tranny and a console horseshow shifter now??

I'd say yes. I think it's just held on by a screw and clip to the steering column "collar"
