I have a TH400 in my 3/4 ton truck that has the front pump seal leaking like a some gun. I have an extra TH400 in the garage that is stock like the one in the truck. I want to replace all the seals in the extra one and then just swap it out. I thought, since it's already out, that I would maybe put a shift kit in it. The tranny was working fine when pulled. I was wondering what other basic upgrades or improvements I can make to the tranny without rebuilding it. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but don't know much about auto trans. Should I just stick to the shift kit, seals and call it good???? Thanks!
