I recently got a '68 "project" that I thought I would just fix up a little and try my luck on Ebay. Well, it's being restored for me to keep instead. I've never been a "hot rod" guy, but the engine is being built by a well-known guy in L.A. that builds race engines. (free plug: NELSONRACINGENGINES.COM) So, needless to say, I'm being drawn into the performance side of this hobby. (going to his shop is like Disneyland for guys) The motor is almost complete. It will be a 383 stroker from a 350 block, Brodix aluminum heads (don't know exactly which ones), 3:73 rear end with Mosier gears. TKO 5 speed... that's all I can tell ya about it with my limited knowledge. Based on this info, assuming he is building it like it was his own, what can I expect as far as performance? (quarter times and speed) I'll never go to the track, just want to know. (before we switched from Vortex heads to Brodix, he was saying around 425 h.p.).
sorry for the long post.....just wanted to give full details

We will need to know the cam specs before we can even wager a guess. Which Brodix heads and valve sizes along with which intake manifold would be helpful too. Assuming you plan to at least run small tube headers, 425 HP is quite possible with the right cam. For quarter mile times, figure out what your car weighs with you in it and use a 1/4 mile calculator that allow use of flywheel HP (can find one with google).
