I have 69' camaro that is pretty much stock, but I drive it a few times a week, but when I do, I really drive it...The motor has about 350hp, which I plan to step up to around 400hp or so in the next few months or so...

The car runs really well right now, but the clutch is really slipping and wont hold. My Dad replaced it a few years ago and I believe did it was a generic replacement and it is almost gone...

So, I am looking for a new clutch, and was think about buying one of the new centerforce DF clutches....any other recommendations? I just got the car back into my own garage after 8 years and I dont think I will change it myself, (I have never changed out a clutch, should I give it a go?) but I may have to order it myself, if I do I need to order the who clutch kit, flywheel, etc...any help or advice is appreciated.

I looked on Centerforce's website, but did not see any dealers in my area. Any places online that are good to get parts through?, and yes it has been a while since I have dont much on this car.

The car a standard 350ci in it with a m-22 4-speed and a 3.73 posi.

Ditto a Perfection/ZOOM stock replacement kit from Summit!

And the price is right.

Should be a bit over a "C"-note?? Good value by me!

I'm happy with the Centerforce DF,..reported to be 90% stronger than stock and the pedal is as light as a new Toyota.

I bought the Hays street/strip clutch and am very happy with pedal effort and engagement. Very smooth!

I run a RAM 979 clutch in my car. It's a sintered iron friction disc. It was in there when I bought the car and I love it!!

I just ordered RCF606 disc for my car. It has a hays flywheel and a centerforce plate. I think the setup I have will be great. The disc was $45.74 shipped to my door.

I used to run a Hays street/strip clutch and that baby wouldn't slip no way - no how. The downside is it was so stiff you practically had to use both feet to push in the clutch pedal. Lots of people told me that my Hays was 'old school' and that the state of the art had advanced to the point that super-stiff clutch springs were not necessary any more. As a result, when I had my motor rebuilt two years ago I went with the Centerforce DF clutch setup. I had my flywheel resurfaced at the same time. While the Centerforce is much easier to operate, I do get some slippage if I do a moderate to hi-rev standing start. That never happened with the Hays. And yes, I have adjusted the clutch linkage to compensate for break-in and normal wear and tear.

I run the Hays street/strip clutch and find that it's very easy to push the clutch in.

I've got the hays street strip clutch and its easy to push in. Its not light as a feather like a hydraulic clutch, but I didn't expect it to be. I like it and it seems bo to be holding up well behind my 500hp motor so far.
