racinjason424 Oct 24th, 08, 05:49 AM Owned by Chuck Wright, may have been driven by him, but for sure was driven by Jerry Miller and Jim Hayter. All three of these guys are/were from Ohio and raced mostly the Division 3 races. Chuck Wright has also owned and raced a corvette.....

MUSCLECARMAGMAN Oct 25th, 08, 09:54 AM Sorry, those are the only pictures I have.... Cant read the rear fenders, but the front says "Diamond Racing Engines".. They were out of Detroit, MI at the time..
There were 2 Chuck Wrights one from Ohio and one from Pennsylvania. Both ran 69 camaros.Chuck Wright from Diamond ran a car with Jim Hayter called the TIRETOWN RAT Akron Ohio pictured above. The other Chuck Wright now deceased ran Ed Hedricks old Yenko camaro called PUSHERMAN and it ran in the western Pennsylvania area.Chuck Wright from Pennsylvania ran the Vette.Talked to Chuck Wright from Diamond and he said the car is in Texas somewhere. He also stated it was a body in white they went to Detroit to pickup. Both cars are MIA.The TIRETOWN RAT was supposidly pretty well butchered for racing.
Nikke Oct 25th, 08, 10:34 AM Ok, another long shot.
Did he say if they pickup it when it was new in -69? or in the 70s?
The floor was cut out and they put in thin aluminium on the floor.
Nikke
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Oct 25th, 08, 10:48 AM Had to be 69 or early 70.
Nikke Oct 25th, 08, 11:47 AM Did he tell you the name on the rear fender?
Did he have some fotos of the car?
It looks like a é at the end.

MUSCLECARMAGMAN Oct 25th, 08, 02:52 PM Look up Charles Wright Akron Ohio ? in the white pages he has or runs a tow truck service in the area.I don't have any more info than I posted. It's been a long time since I spoke to him.The last time I talked to Jim Hayter he was living in Oklahoma he's the one that would have more info. From what both of them told me this was not a COPO car. That was why I quit looking for the car.
Nikke Oct 26th, 08, 04:30 AM Thanks for the PM´s Copoloco.;)

MUSCLECARMAGMAN Jan 16th, 09, 04:12 PM Here's an email I got from a guy in Canal Fulton.
QUOTE:He's a legend around here . Everyone knows chuck. He still has his speed
shop here, Pro Car, i think it is. It's been at least 25 years since i've
seen him, he built a motor for my dad back in the early eighty's. Have
never seen the car though.
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Feb 8th, 09, 10:55 AM I see William G. made a post about the RS ZL1 possibly being sold from Detroits GM tech center.Chuck Wright told me thats where he took delivery of his.Probably a coincidance but? Thats why I researched the car I believed it to be a COPO.Jim Hayter said he didn't think so.Chuck took delivery with no drivetrain.
