If cost is not a factor, what exactly is needed to convert a TCET5008 to a TCET5009? I may have a line on a inexpensive 5008. I don't want to use any adaptors and such. I know I will need a different case and input shaft, but is there anything else?
thanks

I got the same idea and was talked out of it due to costs and strength as someone more knowledgeable on this trans would have to do this if you dont have all the pullers and stuff. Might want to contact Classic 5 speed , they are a sponsor here. I also understand there is an input shaft issue too, either too short or too long.

I have converted a few 5008 to 5009 , the biggest expense is the input shaft , last one i bought was around $120.00 , then you can get the input cone machined down to fit the GM throwout bearing , it also needs to be cut down in length . I can give you those demensions if you are interesed .

Mark,
Does it require a different case as well to fit the 621 bell housings?

Same case , you just use the other bolt holes for the chev , they are drilled for both .
