Is this a test? OK, I'll bite.

A dent in the fender. (could be a reflection)

Was the red hockey stripe available with that color paint? Black or fathon green - can't tell for sure. It it's black with a black int, then I think the red is OK.

Other than that, looks like a base SS coupe to me.

Is that a sniper hiding in the woods there?

SS emblems, hockey stripe in red(?), SS hood - but, dog dish hubcaps?

Car looks fine. Must be an X-55 car. SS package received the qtr gill, but nothing else. 14x7 XT wheels with dog dish caps were standard on SS. No spoilers front or rear, correct for a no option car. :)

Head rests appear black, so the red stripes apply.

from CRG
1969: Tuxedo Black coupes with Black interior and D90, DX1, or D96 stripe (not Z28) and without* vinyl top received a Red stripe. (* Note: An original paint black car with a black vinyl top has found and it has a red stripe on it, so GM documentation may be in error on this detail).

So everything that can be seen is perfect for a X-55 SS. What do you see?

The only thing wrong with that picture is its too far away and there is ony one pic!! I would love to see more of this car :D I like the color combo. Did this color combo come on converts??? :)

Wheels look like 15 inch to me. Biggest question is: does the cowl tag match the current paint scheme??

Alan I think you might be right. The quarter trim is part of the style trim group which would also include the wheel opening mouldings, the roof rail, the head light ring and something on the tail lights. The white book also includes the rear panel emblem but I don't think I've ever seen a Camaro without some kind of emblem back there.

Style trim included the fender moldings, drip rail and rear fender louvers. So with the louvers I would assume it requires the fender and drip rail bright trim.
Interestingly enough when I picked up my brand new 1969 Z, there was car parked beside mine identical to that one with a 375 horse motor. That was in August of 69.

OOPs while I was away having breakfast someone beat me to the punch.
Sorry for being redundant.

Thanks,it is a shame so much effort was put into that car with dog dish caps/Poly's and all and the trim is'nt right if I am correct in assuming this.

and the trim is'nt right .

It's early and maybe my brain isn't working, but was style trim required on SS cars?
I thought it was not.

This car does not have style trim, so no bright accents. The qtr gill is part of the SS package when style trim is not ordered. And no, style trim is not required on any option package. The wheels look like 14s to me, the tall biased ply tires make the wheels look larger :D

From an old pamphlet I have, called "1969 Camaro Illustrated Facts"

Everything looks correct - that is if the pamphlet is correct.

Kevin - Isn't style trim part of RS for 1969?

Interesting. I have only owned 69 Zs and I alway thought that the louvers were part of the Z21 option and needed the chrome. I was unaware that with the SS you could get the louvers and no chrome. Great information.

Style Trim was included in RS, but I see nothing to indicate RS. The quarter louvers were included in non-style trim SS.
The only thing I see wrong with the car is that it is not in my driveway...awesome car!

Kevin - Isn't style trim part of RS for 1969?

Al, you are correct, the style trim was included in the RS package. I was thinking more along the lines of a package order requiring another option, instead of included. for example, the tilt wheel required a floor mounted manual or automatic to order.

I stand corrected! But since this car does not appear to be and RS, then no trim here. :)

RPO Z21 is the Style Trim .
Was there an RPO for Rear fender Lovers only ???
I guess the louvers are part of the SS package? Looks like RPO Z27 for SS does'nt say one way or the other. Looks like it according to the brochure.I can always depend on you guys for info thanks.

Ahh, that helps. Actually there is a bit of an issue :) As a SS-396 the trim tag is either an X-22 or X-66. If it is a X-22, then he needs to add wheelwell and drip rail trim. If it is an X-66, then he need to remove the headlight trim and taillight verticle trim. Of course these changes are for the car to be correct. It looks very nice, right now :D

That is a nice car, guess that answered the shadow in the front fender that was in question as to a dent or shadow ?. Very Nice !!!

Look at post 15. Is the SS emblem upside down in the pamphlet?
