Hello everyone, I am installing a V8 in a 2.8l car and am using the stock 2.8 5speed trans. I have run into an obstacle besides having to get another bellhousing (yes I got the tilted one). The input shaft is smaller on the 2.8 trans than what the V8 trans appear to have. Is there a clutch disc (up to 11") that will work with this trans? Also do I need to start looking for a v8 trans now? Any help would be appreciated.

Jags that run had a write up on this in one of their s10 swap manuals.. I belive they said the input shaft had to be trimmed for lenght though and nothing else. They also said that it wouldnt last long but Im not sure I believe that 100%. Ill have to look at the manual later and read exactly what they say. Ill get back to ya

As you are finding out, the V-6 bell housing is not the same as the V-8's. Also the T-5 transmission is very weak. That is why the 350 CI cars had automatics. I would not put to much effort into trying to use this trans. Your cheapist solution is to swap in a 4-speed. If you have money to throw away, get a Tremec 5 speed or a T56 6 speed. With gas prices as high as they are, I would swap in a 3.1 V-6.
