Has anyone used this cam in their small block. I am interested in possibly using this cam in my engine but I would like to find out how it idles and if it will provide enough vacuum for power brakes. I dont know if it will make any difference but my engine has aftermarket vortec heads with 64cc chambers and 2.02-1.60 valves. I also plan on using a Edelbrock air gap manifold and a 650 holley carb. Also I am a little concerned that this cam has more lift than I need for my application. (.489 intake/.504 exhaust) any replies would be great. Thanks

I used it in my 383 with 200cc dart heads. It has plenty of vacuum for power breaks but has a nice lope to it and pulled great.

I have the 276 (60104) in my SB. No Power brakes, but it idles fine.

Ive used 60100, 60101, 60102 and 60103 350's got the first three, and a 388 got the last one. all were 9.5-9.9:1 and the 388 was 10.6:1 all of them ran like scolded dogs and the 350's were stump pullers...:D

I run it in my 69z28 with vortec hads and 9:1 compression it runs great brakes are fine. Minor lope at idle nothing serious breaks work fine.

I run it in a 327. The idle is slightly agressive, and sometimes I run out of vacuum for my power brake booster.

It depends on what size small block you install it in as to how it behaves. The larger the small block, the tamer it will be and compression ratio has a lot to do with it also.

I run that cam in my 355 with 64cc Edelbrock RPM heads @ 10:1 compression, RPM intake, Edelbrock 600 carb, 1 5/8 headers.

Nice sounding idle, great off-throttle response and tops out at 6,200 RPM or so. It'll burn the tires as long as I stay in it...good enough for me.

I don't run a booster on my disk brakes. It seems to produce borderline manifold vac for power accessories.

I run the one step larger 276 (60104) version in a 369ci sbc. Around 11 -12 vac at idle, power brakes work fine.

I never had a problem with my brakes and if memory serves me correctly i have 14" vacum at idle about 650 to get that lopey idle. If you need real numbers i can measure it.

Dave... what gears are you running? How is mpg with that cam compared to the stock 330/350 cam?

I have 4:10 gears with 235/60 15 tires and an m22wr trans. Mpg is around 12 or so. I run it pretty hard. Cam change didnt seem to affect mileage. The holley 650 dbl pumper is the big culprit in the fuel economy.
