That's great! The epitomy of American spirit in engineering back in the days when our country had skilled workers that made a proud American product.

"Max power could not be used until rear shoes were traded in for super-bite slicks."

"Just one blast through three out of four cogs and you'll be a believer too!"

Freakin' outstanding... I need to get me some of those "super-sano bolt-on bite bars".

It was relly cool reading through the article, knowing that those options were availabe back then --- I laughed when I saw the gas milage numbers on the spec sheet -- 6 MPG city / 9 MPG highway

I have a old reprint article from the late 60s that shows the guys taking a 427
nickey or dana (or somethig like that) camaro stickin slicks on it and uncapping it
and running 11.30s @ 124 in it... thats cool! They were doing this 40yrs ago,
same as they do now with z06 vettes.

Love that article. Us kids in high school only heard about these cars. But I sure as hell was going to get one! We didn't have a cool dealer around so I had to build my own. I bought the engine a year before the car. It's still working well.
And look at the BBC installation pictures. A SBC-install originally. No heater core change, DRUM BRAKES!!! mono rear springs, probably a 10 bolt and who knows what trany! And front springs??? We would NEVER let our fellow board members here build such a car. I sure as hell didn't!
