Does anyone know where I might could find a set of pistons for a 375HP 396? The TRW part# is L2242F. I need them .030.
I have tried Summit,Jegs,Competition Products,Flatlander Racing and EBAY.
Trying to build this engine as close as possible to original for a restoration project. Federal Mogul has moved offshore and these pistons are not available. Summit has had them on backorder for nearly a year.

It will be more expensive, but Ross makes replacement pistons for Super Stock/ Stock applications where the piston has to be the exact style and configuration of original, although the material will be their stronger and lighter 2618 material. They list the 375 HP piston. They usually take about 3-4 weeks to make.

You need to look under speed pro. I don't think trw exists anymore. Everything I order comes in speed pro. CP, ROSS, JE are much better pistons but twice the price.

That's wierd. Summit has them listed in the catalog under part number TRW-L2242F30, but they only have F40's and F60's on the website. $423.60 a set. I'd call, I'm sure they can get them.

Lonnie,
They are on national back order from Sealed Power. I checked a couple of warehouses that I deal with and there are none to be found :( Sealed Power has gotten pretty bad in the last year or so as far as availability goes. I waited from Feb to September for a set of forged 455 Pontiac pistons :(
If you dont want to go with Ross or another more expensive one, your only choice is to keep wathing e-bay and have someone keep checking with Sealed Power. They will get a new shipment from India sooner or later :)

I will have to check PAW's inventory. Thier price is about $40 more apiece than Summit:( Sometime you gotta do what you gotta do.
Thank you all for all the help/ideas..I appreciate it!:)
