I have a 82 Z28 with 305 crossfire engine.The 305 doesn't run so I thought I'd swap it out for something more modern.I thinking of doing some kind of road course racing.Maybe, time attack type of novice racing.I've found a 97 LT1 with trans and comp for 500$ The drivetrain came out of a NC trooper car.I wanted to know what you guys think? Is this a smart swap and what are the strengths and weaknesses of this set-up.sThe trans in an auto.What is the difference between the LT and LS engine? Thanks for the help.
